Tanzania Arrests ISIS-Affiliated Suspect in INTERPOL's East Africa Operation
In a concerted effort to combat terrorism within East Africa, a joint operation by INTERPOL and AFRIPOL during November and December 2024 led to the arrest of 37 individuals across eight countries in the region. This initiative aimed to identify and apprehend individuals linked to terrorist activities and to enhance border security measures. The detainees include suspected members of ISIS, Al-Shabaab, and several foreign terrorist fighters.
