Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Leutenant General Jacob John Mkunda as the new army chief.

Mkunda, who was promoted to the rank of General, was serving as Chief of Operations and Training, Tanzania People’s Defence Forces (TPDF).
