Some American activists on social media have described the reported shooting at a U.S. government dinner as a new staged performance by Donald Trump’s campaign team.
One user wrote: “What an incredible psychological operation and false flag! Of course, this one won’t be as effective as Butler, Pennsylvania (referring to the failed assassination attempt on Trump).”
Another user added: “This is another false flag operation by the deep state, just like what happened in 2024. The question is whether Karoline Leavitt and Trump will blame Iranians or Democrats, because that’s what will help them win votes in the upcoming election.”
“You can’t say it wasn’t staged”
American journalist and media activist Ryan Matta wrote on X: “It’s like Butler 2.0. I think we can all be confident to say that not a single Secret Service member was fired after Buttler. It looks like they hired the same actors for the 3rd assassination attempt.”
He added, “Someone wanted that shooter to get into the Whitehouse tonight. This didn’t happen by mistake. This was either planned by Israel, our intelligence agencies, it was a staged PSYOP by this administration attempting to get Trump his maga fanbase back.”
Yemeni cartoonist’s ironic reaction
A Yemeni cartoonist reacted to the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner with a cartoon suggesting the incident was staged and pre-planned.
“We will have a shooting tonight.” - White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt
Kamal Sharaf depicted the event in a way that implied the shooting was intentional and orchestrated, reinforcing claims that it was a designed scenario.
Trump: “Effective people get assassinated!”
After the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, U.S. President Donald Trump rejected any link between the incident and the war against Iran.
In response to a question about whether there was any indication the shooting could be connected to the conflict with Iran, Trump said: “I don’t think so, but you can never be sure.”
Regarding the attacker, he said: “My impression is that he was a lone actor, a deranged individual. These are dangerous and abnormal people, and they must be dealt with.”
Immediately after the shooting, Trump released photos of the attacker and surveillance footage, claiming he was targeted because of the importance of his work.
He also claimed: “Only effective people get assassinated!”
White House spokesperson: “We will have a shooting tonight”
Before the event, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made an unusual remark about the evening’s program, saying there would be various events, including fun segments.
Strangely, she appeared to anticipate the shooting and said, “We will have a shooting tonight.”
She previously said, “I tell you, he is fully prepared. Tonight’s speech will be a classic Donald J. Trump speech—funny and entertaining. There will also be a few shots fired in the hall tonight. So everyone should watch—it’s going to be really great.”
The attacker’s infiltration through a heavily guarded hotel lobby
According to police reports, a 31-year-old California teacher named Cole Allen has been identified as the armed individual who opened fire near the White House Correspondents’ Dinner venue in Washington, D.C.
Reports say the suspect was carrying a shotgun, a handgun, and several knives.
Police confirmed that the attacker was not shot during the incident.
The New York Times, citing informed sources, reported that the arrested individual is 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen from California.
The Washington mayor stated that the armed man infiltrated a Secret Service-controlled area through the hotel lobby, where he was stopped by agents. There is no evidence suggesting others were involved.
A Washington police spokesperson said: “The attacker appears to have acted alone. Preliminary information shows he opened fire, and further details will be released after the investigation is completed.”
He added that the suspect was staying at the hotel and was not previously known to police.
The Acting U.S. Attorney General stated that two charges have been filed against the suspect, who is expected to appear in court on Monday.
